What Do Tim McGraw And The Artist Formerly Known As Prince Have In Common?

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Attorneys for country music star Tim McGraw have filed a countersuit against Curb Records, seeking a ruling that would release him from his 20-year contract with Mike Curb.

Big Record Companies doing business as usual.  Record companies either have a knack for spotting great talent and bottling it up for decades or it's just standard operating procedures.  Either way it the war rages on again with yet another music entertainment superstar attempting to emancipated from a extremely lengthy contract.

This will no doubt be one to watch and see just how it turns out.  But it does make one wonder where the heck were these attorneys when Tim McGraw entered into and agree to the twenty year contract; and should this even be a disputed since we will assume that Tim McGraw entered into the agreement in sound mind and no doubt was enthusiatic in the early years.

Maybe Tim McGraw has grown wise to the industry and the blood sucking record companies and is now ready to stand up to them.  Only time will tell!  Many of the artist in position learn the game and then open their own record companies and employ the same tactics used against them on the newer unsupecting artist.  Just one vicious cycle after another.

Either way this artist promoter relationship is soured and it's best for both parties to go their seperates ways and try to part as friends and remember the good times.  There is always a new superstar in the making just around the corner and the more time you spend arguring in court the further they will move from your grasp to your competing record companies.

A fool will lose tomorrow reaching back for yesterday!
